Bayticol Pour-On For the control of ticks (Haemaphysalislongicornis) on cattle and as an aid in the treatment of ticks on deer.

A5335 Unrestricted

Active Constituents:

Flumethrin 10g/L in a liquid for topical application to cattle and deer. Available in 10L Herd Packs, 5L backpacks and 1L plastic bottles.

Indication:
Control of ticks on cattle, and an aid in treatment of ticks on deer. Bayticol is active against all 3 stages of the New Zealand cattle tick, Haemaphysalis longicornis. It also causes infertility of the ticks that survive treatment by inhibiting egg laying or by rendering eggs sterile. This action helps reduce contamination of pastures.

Provides protection against reinfestation for 3–6 weeks.

Dosage:

For topical application using the following dosages:

 Cattle Dose
 Volumes
 Up to 200kg l.w.

Apply evenly along the midline of the back from the front of the shoulder to the head of the tail. Apply using a plastic measuring cup or automatic drenching gun.

Control of ticks is not affected by rain falling within a few hours of treatment. Spreads through the oils of the skin and hair to all parts of the animal's body. Behaviour such as grooming and tail swishing aid the movement of the active ingredient to the extremities of the body. Undertake retreatment when ticks start to reappear.

For optimum control in deer, treat breeding hinds every 3 weeks from August to fawning. This programme will reduce the number of nymphs which infest fawns during November-December, reaching the adult stage. Continue treating hinds after fawning if this is practical. Treat other stock every 3 weeks from August, or as required.

Withholding Times:

MEAT and MILK: Nil.
